Down by the Riverside Fundraiser

The 22nd of October was a clear sunny day.  Harry & Meg Martin were holding another fundraiser, on behalf of BHAG for Bellingen Hospital, at their home in Urunga on the Kalang River. The water was calm & glistening as supporters arrived at 2pm.

A special treat was in store for guests with many donated lucky door prizes, one being a mobile BBQ.  Guests were served drinks & indulged in platters of scrumptious treats upon arrival as they settled down to enjoy the live music, each other’s company & the wonderful location.  Last minute raffle tickets were purchased before the hot buffet meal was served at 4pm whilst our roaming photographer Solveig was capturing those special moments.

The raffle was drawn & much to the excited delight of all, the 1st prize winning ticket had been purchased at the event.  This was wonderful to be able to hand over the 1st prize at the fundraiser.

1st Prize: Ladies diamond & gold dress ring – Maryann (Wauchope) Ticket No. 2529

2nd Prize: Opal & sterling silver pendant – Tiffany (Bellingen) Ticket No. 0810

3rd Prize: Beaded ceramic cabochon necklace & earrings – Gwen Fox (Bellingen) Ticket No. 0933

4th Prize: Beaded fossil agate, rhodenite & sterling silver necklace & earrings – Sheila Brown (Bellingen) Ticket No. 2274

Thank you to our generous donors Jeff & Joan Stavert, Mac (The Rock Shop) & Stephanie O’Brien.

A total of $3,811.35 was raised from the sale of raffle tickets (this included some donations from those who did not wish to purchase tickets).  Thank you to all who sold, purchased tickets & gave a donation.

The total amount raised by the “Down by the Riverside” fundraising event on the 22nd is still being finalised & we will advise you in our next news update.  Thank you to all who attended, and to Brett Iggulden & the Wizards who played the most magnificent jazz. Guests were still enjoying the atmosphere into the early evening.

Harry & Meg Martin had once again organised a highly successful event.  Thank you Harry & Meg and all those who assisted & donated food, drinks & prizes on the day.
